Did I rip you off?

Well it seems that someone out there thinks so.

A couple of days ago I found this comment on one of my Free dreamweaver tutorials on you tube:

“Don’t buy anything from this guys website, his ripping you off…”

and the writer goes on to say:

“You can get these tutorials for free on youtube…”

It seems his point is that because there are some free Dreamweaver tutorials available on Youtube I must be ripping people off because we’re selling ours.

This got me thinking – “I wonder how our customer feel?”

Did you feel “ripped off” after buying DreamweaverMadeSimple or did you feel as though you got value for money?

Would you rather have spent weeks searching the internet piecing together bits and pieces of the dreamweaver puzzle or did you benefit from having a step by step dreamweaver tutorial taking you through the whole process from start to finish?

I’d really like to hear your view…

Are people being ripped of when they order DreamweaverMadeSimple?

No I don’t feel ‘ripped off’ not in the least, I have only just (16 hours ago) purchased the tutorial and as yet have not had time to do anything. Time will tell, but i entered into the transaction freely and fully understanding what I was doing.

  2. Thomas McCarthy Says:

    Greetings Mark
I also saw Dreamweaver on the net but you do not get the full picture. Thats why i bought Dreamweaver made simple so I get all the details and I’m very happy
thanks also for the mails to help me get started
    Regards

    Thomas

  3. Kenneth Merrill Says:

Mark, I had looked at some of the you tube videos and that’s what got me interested in your product. I liked your voice and layed back attitiude. I purchased for just over $50 your tutorial on the basics of making a website to use in my classroom here at school. It was awesome. I’m teaching 6-8 grade and the kids enjoyed you videos also. Great product. I like the format of following along with Beaver Cheese. I use to have an old tutorial for teachig microsoft suite that was the same format and students really learn from it. Again great job. The person complaing probalby never bought anything and just used the free videos which I realize are only a teaser.

  4. Robert MacLachlan Says:

The sad thing is that there are too many people who think that high quality software and tutorials shouls be free. If a great deal of hard work is put into a product we shoould expect to pay for it. I got a really good start on
creating a site with Dreamweaver with your tutorial and It was worth every penny I paid

  5. Charles Joiner Says:

Mark, I could not have gotten started on my web site without what I learned from Dreamweaver made simple. My goal is to update my website by May 1st 2009.

  6. Iestyn Says:

I haven’t got a clue who you is on about, but I can assure you that you did not rip me off, and if whoever did say this, remember that they obviously didn’t leave their names.

    Box their ears.

  7. Dunya Says:

Hello Mark , i didnot feel ripped off… if i want to learn better i will buy your videos and others to feel that i am ok. and as someone said ,”I saw Dreamweaver on the net but you do not get the full picture.” that is true
Anyhow if i have enough money i would love to buy yours because they are really simple. So don’t feel bad ,, you are great and doing great and your tutorial are the best
    Regards

  8. Julie Says:

No, I do not feel ripped off. I have moved on from website development, but if I ever go back, I know I have all the information I will ever need at my fingertips.

  9. Brett Says:

No, not ripped off, you were up front about it all. I can see you have put some time and effort into setting it up and the support is pretty good after purchase.

I do think you should bring it into the new century and get rid of the tables but other than that the product is fine.

Don’t know about all the other marketing crap that goes with it but the product I purchased was as stated

  10. Cam Inglis Says:

Your Dreamweaver tutorials were really my starting point in website development and they provided a quick way to learn at home, and later a tool I constantly referred to when I forgot how something was done.

I certainly didn’t feel ripped off. I was aware before sign up, and after of alternatives, but chose your videos because of their simplicity. As pointed out in an earlier post, they are cleverly done and your voice doesn’t put me to sleep.

What matters is; DreamweaverMadeSimple worked for me.

I’ve moved on from Deamweaver to Joomla for website development, but I still have Dreamweaver designed sites to maintain, and I find you soon lose your working knowledge of software programs when you don’t use them regularly. For a quick refresher I would definitely go back to your tutorials.

  11. Lori Attack Says:

Mark – It is sad that you have been subject to this kind of talk. I haven’t spent a cent on any of your tutorials and yet you have sent me a huge amount of awesome free material. I dont know anyone can say that you rip them off if you offer tutorials sent right to your email daily for free. You have helped me greatly and I really enjoy the way in which you teach. By the way I only haven’t purchased yet becasue I don’t have time at the moment to follow the tutorials but once my course is finished I will have more time to learn more.

    Thanks for your help!
    Lori

  12. Thomas Thompson Says:

I did not even know about Dreamweaver on utub. I do not have time to look at utub. I have enjoyed everything you have sent to me. I have not bought from you as of yet because I am using a very old program of Dreamweaver which is #4. I will get your tutorial when the time comes that I move up to CS4.

  13. Neil Rodgers Says:

    Hi Mark

After buying Dreamweaver Made easy I thought I had made a mistake because my Dreamweaver Programme is 6 years old, and in fact I sent you an email to cancle the purchase.

The following day I spent time with your programme and found it to be most usefull I have already mastered many sections of Dreamweaver and in fact well on the way to producing my own webpage.

I have no idea who should have any details re my purchase as I have not discussed the purchase with anyone let alone posting on any other site.

I am not a user of you tube and whats more I never will be.

    Yours Truly

    Neil rodgers

  14. John Taylor Says:

I thought it was a good value or I would not have purchased it. However I haven’t even had the time to use them.

  15. Lance Says:

If I *choose* to purchase a tutorial because it explains something more clearly than I’ve ever understood it before, that’s my choice and your right to sell it.

If you want to take this discussion to its logical conclusion, you can learn how to use any commercial software using its help system. Does that mean it’s the way you’d like to learn it? Probably not.

Look at Video Professor. That dude’s made millions selling CD’s to people for “free” showing them how to use Windows, Office, and many other simple programs.

Sell what you want and if people choose to buy it, that’s their choice and if they feel it’s a good value, they’ll be back.

  16. J.Cox Says:

I must admit that I had never thought of looking for tutorials on YouTube…this must show that I am way out of touch; however, when I decided to add web design to round off the marketing, design and PR offerings to clients, I got Dreamweaver and found myself in a sea of chaos. The original tutorials might as well have been Greek. I spent days researching on the net and was becoming fairly despondent, when I came across yours. It is fair to say that you pretty much are responsible for a 35% increase in my business! I recommend you to anyone who asks me. A rip-off? Hardly!

  17. Frank Says:

I don’t know where someone gets off saying that they got ripped off. They paid to learn something that they didn’t know and for such a small amount of money they must of gained a whole new amount of knowledge when it comes to web design. Some people aren’t happy and never will be till they rip someone off or hurt them.

You have a great product and it sure helped me. Ignore the idiots or even better slap a law suit against them for slander.

Have a great day and I look forward to more of the tips.

  18. S. Hyett Says:

    Hi Mark,
I’ve been working with Dreamweaver for 2 years using Help Tutorials as well as other internet tutorials. I just wish I had found yours earlier. I would be a lot farther ahead. Well done, No rip off, keep up the good work.

  19. Horace Says:

Not a user of You Tube so no.

  20. Olav Solheim Says:

There will always be comments like this. I bought the tutorials even knowing that i can find some of them on the net. I am a satisfied customer that will continue buing more tutorials.

  21. Dezi Says:

I bought your videos back in 2007 and at that time, while I did learn more than I already knew, I was disappointed to find they were really basic and in order to learn at a more intermediate or advanced level I had to buy an ongoing subscription. Also, I found the tutorials lacking in connectivity to other functions in dreamweaver. Finally, I found a site that offers in-depth tutorials on all Adobe products, and then some, for one reasonable fee. If you want to know the name of the site I discovered, you can email me and I will give you the name. That way you can check out her site and have something to compare yours to. I respect your efforts to explain dreamweaver. After all, it is a cumbersome program to get into. It’s just that I needed more intermediate and advanced guidance. So, in a way, I did feel ripped off.

  22. Juan Says:

No I don’t feel ripped off, I enjoy all the series of your tutorials, Im on a lot of government networks, and some don’t allow us to view YouTube, so the only time I get to that is at my personal computer at home. So your tutorials were very good to start me off in the web editiing business.

    Thanks.

  23. Donna Says:

So far I’ve really liked what I’ve found in Dreamweaver made simple – in one easy package, all put together, with templates and other things packaged. Customer servicesupport, and email tips along with it are all added value. People ad value and re-sell stuff all the time. Don’t agree that it’s a rip-off.

  24. P. Massey Says:

I do not feel ripped off in the least. As another gentleman said when someone goes to all the work and time to create a tutorial we should expect to pay for it. I think you have done a marvelous job. I have picked up many new tips and shortcuts. Thank you Mark.

  25. Joe WW Says:

No Mark I do not feel ripped off at all. You produced a very educational product. It has help my production immensely. I continue to recommend the purchase of DreamweaverMade Simple.

  26. Elsa Rose Says:

No I don’t feel ripped off – I love the tutorials – and I recommend the purchase of Dreamweaver Made Simple to everyone.

  27. Mike Says:

Yes,I do feel ripped of in a way the Dreamweaver Made Simple doesn’t go over enough different things only a few aspects of the program.
For example I want to know how to change the color of text in one area of a web page without changing the color of all the text to that color,

  28. Erica Says:

No, of course not. If anything, you have been more than generous in your information, and you are thorough with your customer service. I remember when I was confused about whether I had a apecific account or not(between two different kinds), and you went through all the trouble of looking it up and clarifying it for me in an email written specifically to me, not a generic “We have looked into the matter and have found….blah blah blah” email. And the fact that you are concerned enough to check in with your customers to see if they DO feel ripped off is what makes you all the more respectful and respectable.

  29. Sylvia Says:

The basic Dreamweaver Made Simple tutorial was a very worthwhile investment for me. After having read a couple of Dreamweaver manuals that were not well written, I was happy to find this tutorial that got me designing my web site in short order.

  30. Bjørn Schlichter Says:

    Hi Mark
I don’t feel ripped off. I have been very please using all the tuturals and I have never reach the development level, where I’m to day, making a lot of web pages for nearly 2 years now, without your help. I feel very well with all the tuturals, service and help I have got from you and your staff, and I therefore have pay for lifetime membership on Dreamweaver Made simple. I hope that the little noise about ripped off, wo’nt change anything by you and your concept.

  31. Drennen Says:

    Hi Mark,
I have not purchased any of your videos. But I do not believe that I would be ripped off. I do agree you can find a lot of video tutorials on the internet but, not step by step as you have. Yes I would love to purchase some videos from you when I am able. I am a 53 year old man and disabled but love working with DreamweaverMX, 8 cs and Frontpage 2003.

Thank You so much for your tutorials.
    Drennen

  32. Ruth Says:

Dreamweaver Made Simple does not rip anyone off. The tutorials are easy to follow and if you have a problem there is always help from the support team. The interaction from Mark is useful, and it’s great to know what other people have achieved on their own sites from regular updates.

  33. Barbara Says:

You certainly didn’t rip me off; you actually refunded me when it wasn’t the version I needed. As soon as I have time I plan on signing up for the current
    version!

  34. James Says:

I feel that when I subscribed, I received value for what I was looking for at the time.

However, when I tried to unsubscribe, it was a rather trying experience, and I believe I ended up paying for at least 6 mos of subscription after emailing and requesting I be unsubscribed, only to find out there is a series of procedures necessary to get off the list which I really never understood in the earlier stages of the process.

I think the unsubscribe should be spelled out a little better, and the entire process should be much easier to move in and out of the system.

  35. Liz Says:

Good grief… what a silly person to say this (that’s the polite version!). Has anyone actually tried to go through youtube and collate all that information? There wouldn’t be enough hours in a day. Your tutorials are great and all in one place… step by step instructions.

Too many people want something for nothing, forgetting that it’s taken someone a lot of hard work to compile something like Dreamweaver Made Simple. Ignore him. Or leave a link for us to counter his ridiculous comments :-)

  36. rich Says:

most of the free tutorials on you tube are sometimes incoherent at best . i dont mind paying for a professionally produced product.

  37. Dave W Says:

No, I don’t feel ripped off. I was looking for a relatively inexpensive way to just get my feet wet with Dreamweaver and this was basically what the doctor ordered.

  38. kol Says:

I do feel it is a waste of money for people who know how to find things. basically we just paid for u to gather videos in one place which with a little help from google we wud have easily found.

  39. Gerald Toohey Says:

    Mark,

I don’t feel ripped off. Simple as that. You should pay someone for the work they do. Too many freeloaders around.

    Gerald Toohey

  40. diane brady Says:

I DON’T THINK YOU RIP ME OFF. I DIN’T HAVE TIME TO WORK WITH IT BUT WHEN I BOUGHT YOU SIMPLE WAY THAT HELP ME TO START FAST BECAUSE I NOT VERY GOOD WITH COMPUTER.DONT WORRY ABOUT THERE COMMENT PEOPLE WILL NEVER BE HAPPY.

    DIANE

  41. Nola Says:

I bought the tutorials over a year ago – still haven’t gotten around to using them. Can’t comment on how well they might work for me, but I can comment on the fact that this isn’t a fly-by-night place, they’ve been around a long time, so I’m sure if I have problems they’ll help me out. Yep, any doorknob can find free things on the net, that doesn’t make it the easiest way to obtain information – I would rather pay somebody else (Mark) to ‘give’ me the info for a marginal fee, than waste my valuable time hunting for it.

  42. dave steele Says:

    hi mark,
No! I don’t feel ripped off at all, I looked for a product to teach me the basics of dreamweaver, after looking around at what was available your “dreamerweavermadesimple” tutorials filled that requirement very nicely, and I like many other am quite happy to pay for what I believe to be a reasonably priced, quality product.
    regards dave steele.

  43. Natalia Says:

    don’t worry about those comments.
is your job to do what you do and if people feel like they can do it without your help is ok, you will always find other person who will need you anyway.

  44. Kaila Says:

Hi Mark, I felt I learned a lot of important things with your tutorial. I just expected a little more. Just like what Dezi said, “in order to learn at a more intermediate or advanced level you would have to buy an ongoing subscription”… which was a little disappointing. But nonetheless, I don’t feel ripped off. I learned something which I didn’t know before so… it was still worth it.

  45. Liora Says:

    Hi Mark,
I think the tutorial is a good deal. The on going support of the endless Tips is great.
    Thank you.

  46. Tony Says:

    Hi Mark,
It was on youtube Itself that I started to look for a tutorial on Dreamweaver, there was a few that I did watch but I have to admit yours was the best I’ve came accross. It was quick learning for me easy to understand and got me started and a great understanding of Dreamweaver itself, It was worth every penny

  47. Chalotte Says:

Not feel ripped off such, it just didn’t help or do it for me. So whether I wasn’t clever or motivated enough, I’m not sure. Just wasn’t work the $.

  48. Manni N Says:

    hey mark

i think its one the best place online service i had i feel very comfortable with the service
all the support and follow ups
    great service! NO BULL!

  49. Gary Says:

    Hi Mark,
I think the tutorial is a very good. The on going support of the endless Tips is great.
    Thank you.

    Hi Mark,
    NOT AT ALL!
I have not purchased any of your videos. But I do not believe that I would be ripped off. I do agree you can find a lot of video tutorials on the internet but, not step by step as you have. If a great deal of hard work is put into a product we shoould expect to pay for it. Yes I would love to purchase some videos from you when I am able.
Thank You so much for your tutorials.

  51. Bobby Joel Says:

Do I Feel Ripped Off?? NO WAY! I believe with Dream Weaver Made Simple you get Much Much More then what we pay for!! This is a professional step by step tutorials that we can use in our own time and continue on learning at our own pace! Where else can you possibley get this type of service?? NO WHERE!!!
Yes there is other DW tutorials on you tube, but do you get GREAT personal service, updates, and reliablity, high quality videos, and more? I dont think so!!

Since ive been with Dream Weaver Made Simple Ive been 101% happy and wouldnt even bother with other tutorials!! Theses are the best!

  52. Lorraine Says:

    Hi Mark
Just wanted to add my bit – as a complete novice to Dreamweaver, I have found your site so helpful and well worth the money. I understand the concept of the program now and your tutorials are helping me immensely. It would have taken AGES to work it all out for myself and I would have got fed up with it all and probably given up. How can that person say you’ve ripped them off? So much work has obviously gone into your site and I’m sure he/she (whoever they are) would expect to be paid for something THEY had spent a lot of time creating. You just can’t please everyone in this “all for nothing” world!!

  53. Nicola Says:

    Dear Mark

… and another thing (to go with everyone else’s comments). I like your exercises. I like your DW made simple PDF book. I am happy to have paid for them.

Could I have learnt Dreamweaver any other way? Yes, of course I could. And indeed I did. I trained as a Website Designer. I have both a BSc in Multimedia Technologies and an MSc in Multimedia and the Internet.

So why did I buy your products? Because I was trying to explain how to use Dreamweaver to a class of students, one of whom was dyslexic, one was autistic, one was profoundly deaf, and one partially deaf (they used signing). They special needs students needed addiitonal support above the classroom/workshop time. So I researched what was available on the internet.

Certainly there are examples available on YouTube with sound and actions. But the sound was necessary to understand the exercises, so they did not suit my deaf students. Also, the YouTube videos are limited in size / running time, so they did not address topics in detail. Finally, they did not cover the whole subject area, from the work necessary to design a site, through the multimedia creation, the implementation cycle, testing and maintenance.

When I found your work, I saw it as a valuable example of how to develop materials to teach special needs students requiring help beyond that available during class time. I have gone on to develop short video lessons with captions that the students can watch outside of class time, to remind them of sequences of actions within Dreamweaver to perform specific functions. Having made them for special needs students, lo and behold, I discovered the rest of the class liked them too.

There is no “one way” to learn a subject. Some students have deep concentration, and can recall information easily. Others can reinforce learning by reading. Usually everyone appreciates seeing a “worked example” by the teacher. Yet others need the practice of exercises to embed the learning almost “in their fingertips”.

If the available YouTube videos help, then certainly use them. But do not slate the work of someone who has taken it a step further to help people learn to use an application. I know from my own teaching experience that it required a lot of hard work and many hours to create and then produce your offering.

Nice though it would be to make all educational materials free, we all have to earn a living, pay bills, put food on the table. I believe your product is valuable, and is fairly priced. I am glad I bought it, even though I subsequently produced my own offering for my students (which, by the way, under the terms and conditions of my employment, is owned by my college). My choice is the comfort of an employer providing the infrastructure and the paycheck, your choice is entrepreneurial with all the risks that entails. Forget the rant ~ you are providing a valuable service, at a fair price, available to everyone. Congratulations on your work so far. I look forward to more offerings from you. Regards, Nick

  54. Connie Says:

I was not ripped off. I have not seen anything on YouTube. The help I received by email I was not charged for. I did not pay for anything and therefore could not have gotten ripped off.

  55. Neil Rodgers Says:

    Hi Mark

Once again great tutorial I have now produced the main body of my website with a total of 5 pages I only need to insert the content and possibly modify some of the colours easy peasy with your tutorial.

    Kind regards

    Neil Rodgers

  56. John R. Sabey Says:

I feel like I have had a great mini education handed to me for a very minimal cost. I DO NOT feel “ripped off”in the least. Even though I have had to be gone alot in the last few weeks, I have come home to more tips, and the realization the the tutorials are there for me to use as I need them, with all the help I could ask for.

  57. Keith Brathwaite Says:

    Mark,

I found your tutorial to be of great value and I don’t feel that I was ripped off.

    Keith.

  58. M. Yaseen Says:

I think your turorials are a bargain because I applied for a dreamweaver course in local college and they asked me to pay £195 for 6 hours of tuition which I didn’t take and bought your tutorials which are a step by step guide to building a website, they are well worth the money.

  59. David Cook Says:

Mark, I realize that this apparent posting could spark an interest on how the customers feel about this product. My reply is straight forward, if you or who ever is responsible for this product can sleep every night knowing the product is sound then what does it matter. Next time, try asking how we as customers would rate the product, don’t bring the customers into a pissing match with some twit screaming about youtube. I love your product, it’s great, could use some improvement but none the less great. Please acknowledge I do understand this could be a weak attempt at marketing and if so please terminate the genius that came up with it because it’s extremely poor salesmanship. Best wishes and I hope everyday is great for you and your company.

  60. Gray Says:

    My friend Mark,
Even if I can’t pay for your tuts. you send them to me anyway. I try to do the steps but have a very hard time. I have been bed-ridden with cancer and yoou have a knack of keeping me smileing. I had been a Pastor for 30 years and today none of the people I helped in every way possible, would not say hello when I go out with my wife in a wheel chair. If you were doing nothing good, you would not be hasseled, so just smile and say to yourself, “I did it to help”. and you were and still are doing your thing to the people like me to learn something new. I thank you and God Bless you and your work.

  61. Ranbir Manj Says:

There are many who want to milead the public like a person who put the video on the site and there are many who want to help the public by educating them like you.

I know one saying my grandfather told me when I was a kid, ” Dogs keep on barking and the elephant does not loose his patience and courage with that.”

Keep doing the good work you are doing and let those who criticize do their job.

    Thanks for the support.
    Ranbir Manj

  62. Julie Says:

Not at all.. I haven’t had a chance to utilize the services you offer with Dreamweaver as often as I’d like to. But when I have did I found DreamweaverMadeSimple very helpful. Of course you can find free tutorials all over the internet. But it’s nice to have a website that narrows down your search for Dreamweaver answers. Thanks so much!

  63. Kelly Says:

As the numerous comments already here . . . I do not feel ripped off! I have gotten a lot out of this membership and believe it will help me continually improve my site. Yea, I found some of these on utube, but the quality of production and the variety of tutorials you offer doesn’t even compare. Keep doing what you’re doing!

  64. Karen Says:

Ripped off is strong! I feel Dreamweaver Made Simple did not meet my needs and was not easy to use. I asked for a refund and was told there was none. I have a file on my computer that I save all the emails and files to, but it is wasted space in my opinion. I will never do anything like this again.

Live and Learn…Dreamweaver is not for all personalities and makes and models. I don’t believe it can be made simple.

  65. Yvon Says:

    Mark,

I received way more than I paid for. For my part I did learn a lot from the material you send me. You cannot find all that on Youtube and even if you could it is spread over so many places that it would not be practical.
I have seen this kind of comments against other products or articles, I guess it is in the nature of some people to trash everything. Maybe he was not able to learn it, won’t accept the fact that he can’t and as an easy way out blames you.
You do a superb job, don’t give up.

  66. Linda Says:

I didn’t feel “ripped off,” however, I did find it difficult to find the information I needed, when I needed it. When I wrote and asked for support, I received a note saying the link I tried to use was not working at the moment and to try later. After several weeks, I’m still trying and waiting. I need a template for creating a photo gallery on my client’s site. I was recently directed to PhotoShop; however, it defaults to Amaya, and I’m not that tech-savy. I’m still frustrated and irritated that this is so hard to resolve. I’m liking what I have produced in DW so far, but I need to be able to take it to the next level.
Any Help Will Be Gratefully Appreciated. THANKS!!!

This is a p.s. to my message above. Mark saw my note and within a couple of hours had sent me a message that will help me get my answers. The gentleman truly does care. More business people out there should have his sense of ethics. Thank you, Mark.

  68. George Says:

Dont let people who have frustrations and negative minds distracting what you are doing. Keep on Mark. I just love your tutorials and the follow up tips.

  69. jamie Says:

I have been part of your system for about 2yrs now, I think ? I don’t feel ripped off. I have to agree with some of the other in this blog. There will always be someone out there that will be unhappy. no matter what. The one thing that I need to get some info. on is. I have more than one computer now. How hard would it be to put the tutorial on all four units? Just a thought. Other than that this works very well for me. Thanks. Floyd

  71. Meredith P Says:

You’d generally have to be an idiot NOT to know how many free tutorials there are out there…so anyone who pays for learning materials isn’t really getting ripped off – they’re just a little behind the “web” times.
I mean, we’ve all felt ripped off at one time or another, but the individual is always to blame for making bad choices.

  72. Wally S. Says:

Nope do not feel ripped off but would like to request a couple tutorials on other dreamweaver opts.
One is making forms from the start and the reason is in my dreamweaver class I had a hard time understanding that.
I also have a hard time understanding CSS and would like to know how to make a web page template with all the rollover buttons work from a parent page to child pages?
I hate to have to make a rollover button on ever page since my web site I am making has like 15 pages.
Can you help with those two tutorials
    Thanks.
There is a lot but most are shoot and a lot of misses

  73. Sikiru Says:

    Hi There,

In one word, i do not feel ripped off, although I have not read all the materials that you sent, I do still hope I can still have access to all the links because I have not studied them yet.

Do not worry about what anybody says I think am going to enjoy the tutorials.

    Thank you

  74. Randy Says:

Mark, after much frustration searching for answers finding your tutorial training was a major relief to what has been a painful experience with the Dreamweaver software. The tutorial definitely explained concepts (css) making them understandable. I’m an e-learning developer for a major electrical engineering company (ABB). While I love my job I also own a General Contracting firm in extreme need of an impressive web site. You’re training rivals that done by a major corporation and for sure you should feel no shame in the price you charge and the value you deliver to the customer. I’m sure many your critics have no idea the time and energy it takes to develop training like the one you have developed. I have to admit to installing and staying up way to late completing the course in one evening taking delight in reducing the frustration and lack of understanding. While I still have allot to learn your program really got the ball rolling. I look forward to the day you develop the next tutorials.
    Thank You!
    Randy

Hello. i am abdiaziz I did not even know about Dreamweaver pefore these lessones. I have enjoyed everything you have sent to me. i thanks for you.

  76. Kieran Groeger Says:

I saw the Tutorials on YouTube and bought them as a way of saying “thank you” – I keep getting free advice from you and this is much appreciated – so please – keep up the good work! Dreamweaver is complicated for the uninitiated and your tutorials help so much. I was going to sign up for an expensive webisite design course – now I’ll try your course for a fraction of the cost.
I bought also because everyone deserves appreciation for their work in whatever form they choose – money or not.
The more people who do buy – the easier it is for guys like you to keep going. Spreads the load.
    Thanks

    Kieran

I liked the interactive I saw but the marketing …. it’s just too much.. you have a good product..what little I have seen… but I had to go through a lot to get to it…. Tone down the marketing…

  78. Jake Says:

Well, some people are not very observant. I watched all the You Tube videos before I bought the tutorial. I noticed there was needed information that seemed to be purposely left out. I assumed that the You Tube versions were a sample so we would know what to expect. Of course the tutorial that you can reference again and again is much better and the support provided is invaluable. You’ve done well. Keep it up! I think I’ll go buy the dream Weaver Advanced platinum package right now!

  79. Buffy Fischer Says:

Mark: I don’t feel ripped off a bit! I have intentions of buying your full set. Let me explain: I work for an up and coming company that is tipically struggling to get off the ground and started in this economy. Yes, I guess I could search the web and youtube for tutorials which is how I started. But time is money. I’m trying to build our company’s website using dreamweaver 3 which is fairly old. Not easy to find good tutorials pertaining to that version. I have viewed my first videos that you sent and found them user friendly and most importantly, informative. There’s always going to be people that don’t see the value of time in the equation. I thank you for your efforts. You are making my job a little easier! I look forward to be able to purchase the full set. Buffy Fischer

  80. Ray Says:

I don’t know if I was ripped off. I can’t even watch the free ones without your stupid player locking up my system. How am I supposed to trust you to tell me how to write a site when your own doesn’t work.

  81. Adam Says:

I have just started looking into making a website, i did minor work in websites a few years back, im currently setting up an in house server from scratch to host my soon to be website and I have been browsing the website looking for a place to start learning about the new Dreamweaver. There are many videos on you tube and other sites that show how to do some things but they are all in peices, there are no 1, 2 ,3… 10 videos to show how you go through the full setup. that is to be expected as these people are not being paid to put it out, if you made a video and put work into it (i dont mean a few hours but rather the weeks it takes to produce this type of tutorial) then i have no doubt you would want to sell it rather thain give it away. I work in the retail sales demographic and I know first hand that customers who truly do not have any idea how to do a task or are to afraid to take chances will be very happy paying 100 or 200 bucks to do somthing as simple (to some) as setup a wireless network. While other customers who are more adventures and mechanically inclined would scoff at the idea and call it a rip off, i see it as a rip off when i think about it. but the truth of the matter is to those people who truly need the help it is a god send and a requirement for them to be able to use there computers. the same applies here, just because a few who are more inclined than others say its a rip off, in no way diminish the value given to those who truly need it. I myself do not plan to buy the videos im one of those adventurous types, but from what i have seen on this site so far the videos are very clear, clean, to the point, and most importantly produced by someone who wants to make a good video for the novice or the customer who does not want to spend weeks adapting to the learning curve.

The comment above by Ray brings this to mind: To all of you who are looking to buy any kind of computer software. maintain your system and don’t be so hasty to blame the developer of said software for problems that are related to ‘your’ system, the free videos in this case are hosted on you tube, in no way related to ‘his’ code its just an embedded link. your problem is most likely an outdated browser or a outdated plugin such as flash player. Please ensure the problem is not on your end before bashing the creator of what ever software you can not use.

Mark: NO – I just got DW CS4 from you and it is great. I can now begin to practice what I’ve been going to school for the last 2-1/2 years and hopefully be able to develope something to show I know a little about what I’m doing. I do not believe that just because it is FREE it is the best you can get. I’m glad for those who put tutorials on YouTube but it is always more comforting to know I purchased mine the right way and no one was ripped off. It is up to me to utilize the application or it becomes useless and money spent for nothing. Keep doing these tutorials also and you’ll be the envy of the masses!

  83. Tonya Says:

I do not feel riped off at all. You have done a lot of work and I think you should get paid for it!

  84. IBGgraphix Says:

Mark, I don’t feel ripped off however, I do feel slighted. If you offer these videos (over 15 videos to set up your website) for free why did I pay you over $200 for Dreamweavermadesimple courses I have not yet received? This was supposed to be a special price after taking a webinar. Still waiting my total package.

  85. bilyana Says:

    Hi IBGgraphix,

I am surprised to hear that you had trouble getting your tutorials to work. I sent you a private message through the helpdesk to get this issue sorted out.
